's alex savidge is in santa rosa this morning with the task force set to take shape later today. alex. >>> well, good morning. it's a 21-member task force that will come up with an independent review process for officer involved shootings, and this panel will begin to take shape later on this morning at the board of supervisors meeting and that's when supervisors will appoint members of the public and law enforcement to this panel. the task force will consider various options ultimately including a citizen review board or an independent citizen auditor. under the current system, the district attorney looks at officer involved shootings and decides if a crime was committed and then a grand jury reviews those findings. but outrage over the deadly shooting of andy lopez in october prompted calls for change. and investigates say sheriff's deputy eric gailhouse shot and killed the 13-year-old after mistaking the teen's airsoft bb gun for a real ak-47. the lopez family since filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the deputy and the department claiming that shooting was unjustified. th

at santa rosa, mo mo more. still mild in some spots. how about this view just before sunset, a slight, slight chance of some showers tonight. but not very widespread and not very heavy. colder pattern for the rest of the week and we'll have a freeze watch in effect beginning tuesday night. here is a look at the satellite image. a cold front bringing a few showers ahead of it and very, very cold air behind it. so just a slight chance tonight we may see a shower or two. but again, the big changes much colder weather behind the front that will drop our temperatures in the bay area well below freezing wednesday morning to thursday morning. this shows the front moving through tonight, clearing and cooler for tomorrow afternoon. so we'll have mainly sunny skies tomorrow. then during the overnight hour, we'll see quite a change. we'll use santa rowssa as a wayf illustrating the low temperature range over the next 7 days. in santa rosa, for wednesday morning, we expect a low of 29. thursday morning, a low of 24. temperatures bounce back up to about 30 as a low on friday morning. and then the

going to be chilly with 36 in santa rosa. napa also at 37. walnut creek at 42. again, some of the coldest air arriving as we head throughout wednesday morning. the other thing we're going to have to deal with here is that wind. beginning to ramp up tonight at the coastline. as we head throughout tuesday in the north bay, the peninsula, also for parts of the south bay, we could see wind gusts anywhere from 15 to 30 miles per hour. not only cool, but blustery across the bay. here's what you can expect. the worst of the chill to arrive as we head throughout wednesday. also thursday morning. and you can see it's going to be for the north bay and also the east bay where temperatures will likely range 25 to 32 degrees. remember to dress in layers. seems like common sense. just a couple of layers when you're starting off with temperatures in the 30s can make a huge difference for us. we'll get some more on the sierra winter weather advisory coming up. i want to get a look at our microclimate forecast. what you're going to find across the bay is tomorrow, again, it's going to be co

temperatures tomorrow are going to come down a solid ten degrees from these. 56 in santa rosa. it's going to be chilly tonight, but not as cold as it's going to get. here comes that weather system i've been talking about. it's coming straight down from the north. it doesn't have a lot of moisture. we're not forecasting really any rain. there might be a little bit of wet activity. maybe some drizzle or sprinkles. in the mountains, they'll get snow. the winds are still blowing at fairfield. west at 25. that keeps the temperatures above freezing tonight. the mountains after midnight tonight, a winter weather advisory will go into effect. the snow levels are going to get down to about 3,000 feet as we go through the day tomorrow. it would be nice if they got it to a foot of snow. increasing clouds tonight turned out to be a really, a pretty nice day. but as we go through the evening hours, the clouds are coming back in. we had fog in this area this morning. we had dense fog on the bay this morning. tomorrow is going to be about high clouds. this cool air does have clouds associated with it it

. 34, santa rosa. novato, same for fairfield, 38 walnut creek. it will be tough to get above 58, 59. snow, rain is up in seattle and portland. there's not a lot with this. but they are getting of that -- getting some of that. maybe an isolated shower tomorrow. really the cold air is the big story. we'll drop 5, 10 degrees tomorrow for sure as highs go in the upper 30s and 40s. today will be cooler. inland temperatures will struggle to get over 49 degrees as we head to wednesday and thursday. not a lot of rain with this system. we start off with the fog. mostly sunny. wind picks up. some clouds to the north bay. but temperatures, well they will be in the 60s today and then a lot of 50s tomorrow. low to mid-60s here. san rafael, 63. 63 walnut creek, alameda at 60. morgan hill, 66. gilroy will be one of the warmest at 67. 50s if you have the fog. it's -- i know brandon in pacifica -- i think he said 46, 48, damp and cold. the big news, again, will be wednesday, thursday, friday. there is will be lows in the 20s inland. even along the coast, low to mid-30s are possible. widespread freez
